The State Employment Center announced the official number of unemployed in Ukraine.

According to the director of the State Employment Center, Yuliya Zhovtyak, there are currently 100 thousand unemployed registered in Ukraine, which is a significant decrease compared to 2024, when there were 400 thousand such citizens.
«If we talk about the official statistics of the State Employment Service, we currently have 100 thousand of our citizens registered as unemployed. If we take the year 2024, there were 400 thousand citizens of Ukraine who were registered as unemployed,» - Zhovtyak reported.
The director of the State Employment Center noted that the official analytics regarding unemployment is carried out by the State Statistics Service. However, she claims that currently, this level of analytics is not being conducted, but according to the Ministry of Economy, the forecast for 2025 shows unemployment at the level of 17.7%.
«Currently, as was the case last year, the labor market is an employee's market, not an employer's, as there are far more job offers than people looking for work,» - Zhovtyak noted.
Zhovtyak also noted that the minimum unemployment benefit is 3,600 UAH, while the maximum is 8,000 UAH.
According to the head of the National Agency for State Service Natalia Alyushina, as of June 2024, 158 thousand officials had left their positions in the civil service. Currently, there are more than 34.8 thousand vacancies in the civil service. Alyushina claims that it is difficult to find people who meet the requirements for the position of civil servant and cites an example where an agency announced selection for the position of procurement specialist as many as seven times.
