The US State Department supported the decision to sell Ukraine training and support services for F-16 fighter jets worth $310.5 million. This was announced by the Pentagon. The agreement includes modification and modernization of the aircraft, personnel training, supply of spare parts, ground equipment, and software, which is both classified and unclassified. These services will be provided under an agreement with the US government and contractors. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed this issue at a meeting on military aviation development. He noted that F-16s will help strengthen Ukraine's fleet of military aircraft. It should be reminded that the US has already delivered decommissioned F-16s to Ukraine. These fighter jets are capable of not only destroying drones and interfering with radar operations but also protecting themselves from attacks by hostile air defense systems thanks to their own self-defense system.
