The Director General of the IAEA made a statement regarding the operation of the Zaporizhzhia NPP.

The Director General of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, stated that none of the reactors at the Zaporizhzhia NPP should be restarted as long as the situation regarding nuclear and physical safety at the plant remains dangerous. All six reactors at the plant remain in a cold shutdown state. The Zaporizhzhia NPP continues to face issues due to the vulnerability of its external power supply lines. Recently, the plant lost connection with its only power line twice. The International Atomic Energy Agency has access to the facility in the occupied territory, but its work may be restricted. Earlier, the IAEA demanded that Russia leave the plant's territory and deoccupy it. Additionally, due to shelling, one of the two power supply lines has been damaged, creating a risk of loss of power for the reactors. The IAEA recommends not restarting the reactors of the ZNPP while the war continues.
