The General Staff announces the opening of a new front.


Starting from June 16, 2025, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will regularly inform about the course of hostilities in this direction.
Moreover, the Kharkiv direction has been renamed to the Southern Slobozhansk direction for a more accurate reflection of the geography and development of military events.
In the last day, the enemy has carried out four missile strikes and 54 air strikes on Ukrainian positions, also using 11 missiles and 99 guided aviation bombs. The Ukrainian military successfully defended against the attacks, inflicting losses on the enemy and preventing them from advancing deeper into the territory of the country.
According to information provided by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the new Northern Slobozhansk direction was created due to the increased enemy activity near the Sumy region. The renaming of the Kharkiv direction to the Southern Slobozhansk direction was also noted to better reflect the geographical reality and events on the front.
