The commander of one of the special reconnaissance units predicted how the war with Russia will end.

The commander of the sappers' service of the special unit of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kreiken Yevhen Shkirko, stated that the war in Ukraine will end with agreements. He noted that Kyiv's opponents, namely Russia, have many trump cards, but the only trump card on the Ukrainian side is the Kursk region.
According to Shkirko, although there are some preconditions for the disintegration of Russia, they are not yet sufficient to realize this disintegration.
He also noted that Ukraine will be ready for negotiations, but the question is with what exactly Ukraine will sit at the table. Russia has many trump cards, while the Ukrainian side has only one – the Kursk region. The military will not have an influence on the following events.
Forecasts regarding the end of the war
Shkirko believes that the war will not end in November. He hopes for summits to be held, but at the same Time, hostilities will continue on both sides. He also claims that talk that liberating Crimea is easier than the Donetsk region is an exaggeration. Strong forces are needed to break the occupation of Crimea and the Donetsk region, not only for liberation but also for retention.
Shkirko did not provide any specific deadlines regarding the end of the war, similar to the forecast by the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen.
