Better not to swim: nearly fifty beaches in Spain received a 'black flag'.


Spanish beaches received a red light due to environmental issues. The group Ecologistas en Accion marked 48 beaches in Spain with 'black flags', designating them as places with serious pollution. The report showed that beaches in the province of Valencia suffered from pollution caused by floods in 2024.
Ecologists warn about the consequences of pollution, which continues to reach the coast due to the lack of proper sewage systems and wastewater treatment. The pollution of water bodies has worsened due to tourism development and extensive construction, which harms the natural environment. Currently, it is advisable to avoid swimming at the mentioned beaches and to take urgent measures to address the ecological crisis on the coast of Spain.
