An outbreak of African swine fever has been recorded in Vinnytsia region.


The Vinnytsia region has begun actively combating African swine fever in the Tsybuliv forestry. The measures already include the establishment of quarantine posts, disinfection of transport, control over the transportation of pigs, and informing local residents about disease prevention, the publication "Hlavkom" reported.
African swine fever is a viral disease transmitted by both domestic and wild pigs. The infection spreads from sick animals through various means, including contamination of feed and vehicles. It is important to respond promptly to detected cases to avoid mass spread of the disease.

African swine fever is a viral disease that belongs to group A and is highly contagious. It is not dangerous to humans, but can cause severe damage to animals.
In July 2024, cases of African swine fever were already detected in the village of Velyka Kisnytsia in the Mohyliv-Podilskyi district of Vinnytsia. Therefore, preventive measures and control over the disease have become relevant for local farmers and the regional authorities.
Active measures are being taken in the region to eliminate and prevent the spread of African swine fever. Control, disinfection, and informational work among local residents help to avoid serious consequences of the disease and preserve the livestock in the region.
