Dead Lion Found at a Plant in Rivne Region: How Did It Get There.


A dead lion was found on the territory of the Kostopil waste disposal plant located in the Rivne region. According to data from the Rivne police, police officers suspect that the cause of the animal's death was an oncological disease.
The photo of the dead lion was spread on social networks and Telegram channels located in Rivne. The image shows the body of the lion lying among a large number of bags, garbage bags, and other waste.
Network users also reported finding a dead stork, a monkey, and another animal next to the lion.
Law enforcement officers discovered the photo of the dead lion while browsing social networks. According to preliminary police data, the animal died due to an oncological disease.
The incident was registered and an investigation has begun. The police are currently checking documents, interviewing factory and zoo staff to find out the circumstances of the lion's death.
Meanwhile, representatives of the Rivne zoo commented on this incident. Deputy Director Iryna Oliferu stated that the Rivne zoo has an agreement with the Kostopil plant on the disposal of dead animals, according to which bone meal is produced.
The deputy director noted that other dead animals were delivered to the plant along with the lion.
"Among them, there might have been a swan or a stork, but monkeys have not died in the zoo recently," the statement reads.
Recall that in the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, located in the Russian Far East, a case involving a bear was recorded.
