President of Taiwan advised China to take "historic" lands from Russia in the Far East.

President of Taiwan demands that China return "historic" lands
President of Taiwan Lai Ching-te proposed that China return "historic" lands in the Far East to Russia in case China has claims on Taiwan to preserve territorial integrity. "Why not return the lands occupied by Russia, signed by the Treaty of Aigun?" said Lai Ching-te.
The President of Taiwan believes that China does not intend to return these lands but continues to threaten annexation of Taiwan. This is not related to territorial integrity or the actions of a single person or political party in Taiwan, but to China's intention to annex Taiwan by any means.
Taiwan has complex and tense relations with China related to the issue of sovereignty. China considers Taiwan its province and tries to unite it with mainland China using diplomatic and military pressure. Taiwan, on its part, effectively functions as an independent state and has support from several countries, including the USA.
