President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen saved a passenger during a flight.


The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who has a medical education, intervened during her return to Brussels from the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro when an emergency occurred with one of the passengers.
The head of the European Commission intervened to assist a passenger who 'needed medical assistance' after airline staff called for help on a flight from Zurich to Brussels, confirmed European Commission spokesperson Arianna Podesta.
The spokesperson also noted that in such situations, airline staff asks if there are any medical professionals among the passengers, and it was at that moment that the European Commission provided assistance to the passenger in need until the plane landed, after which medical personnel took over.
It is worth noting that before her political career, Ursula von der Leyen worked as a medical professional, practicing medicine under a senior doctor's supervision and received her medical education at Hanover Medical School.
