The tobacco and alcohol market is returning to the shadows? Hetmancev declared a "worrisome rollback".

The head of the Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy, Danilo Hetmancev, noted that the Ukrainian market for alcohol and tobacco products is once again under threat due to the growth of the 'shadow' segment. Recently, the shadow share in the tobacco market increased from 12.6% to 14.1%, while VAT declaration by alcohol producers decreased from 6.3% to 4.5%. The politician emphasized the need to pay more attention to combating this dangerous market. Research confirms the growth of the shadow sector in the tobacco market, especially in Dnipropetrovsk and Odessa regions, where 73% of illegal tobacco products are sold. According to experts, if this trend continues, the budget could lose more than 24 billion UAH in tax revenues by 2025. Therefore, greater measures are needed to combat illegal products in the alcohol and tobacco market in Ukraine.
