Russian Mahmudova, who illegally visited Crimea, became the European champion in archery.


At the European Indoor Archery Championship held in Samsun, Turkey, a Russian woman who illegally visited the annexed Crimea became the winner. She triumphed over a French competitor in the final.
This athlete had previously illegally visited Crimea, participating in other competitions in occupied Alushta. Such a violation of Ukrainian laws carries criminal liability.
Another Russian also secured a bronze medal at the European Championship. He too illegally visited Crimea and participated in other competitions. Along with them, other Russian athletes entered the occupied territory of Crimea, avoiding customs and border control.
The list of participants from the Russian team in weightlifting for the European Championship in 2025 has also been revealed. It includes an athlete who also illegally visited Crimea and participated in a training camp in Alushta.
The European Weightlifting Championship in 2025 will take place in Chișinău. Russian weightlifters were barred from international competitions due to Russia's war against Ukraine but were later allowed to participate in tournaments under a neutral status.
Additionally, there were reports of the death of a 19-year-old football player from Crimea, who died in the Belgorod region. He participated in football competitions in Crimea and in all-Russian tournaments.
