Russian Olympic champion belittled the meaning of the Russian flag.

The Olympic champion urged Russian athletes to compete under any flag
The Olympic champion in cross-country skiing, Russian Alexander Legkov, shared his opinion on the participation of Russian athletes in international competitions. According to him, the main thing is the opportunity to perform on the international stage, no matter under which flag they compete.
“It makes sense to compete under any flag. Whether it’s neutral, ours, or general – the main thing is to go. The important thing is to perform,” Legkov emphasized.
It was previously known that Russian figure skater Ksenia Khorzhova was recognized as a neutral athlete by the International Skating Union. However, it turned out that she liked posts supporting the war.
Khorzhova received support for her actions from gymnast Nikita Nagorny, who also supported Russian aggression against Ukraine and was sanctioned by several countries.
Athletes who expressed support for the war lost the opportunity to participate in the Olympic Games. Four Russian figure skaters were registered for the competitions, but changes were made in pair skating and ice dancing due to their political beliefs.
