A man was sentenced in Kyiv for brutally robbing a pensioner.


A 33-year-old man was sentenced in the Kyiv Svyatoshynskyi District Court for attacking a 60-year-old woman and stealing her bag with money and personal belongings. He was sentenced to nine years in prison for this crime.

This year, the police received a report from medics about the attack on an elderly woman. During the investigation, it became known that a 33-year-old criminal, who had previously committed robberies and attacks, spotted the pensioner on the street and decided to rob her.
The man approached the woman, struck her on the head, seized the bag, and fled the scene.
Thanks to the promptness of the police, the criminal was quickly apprehended and evidence of his guilt was gathered. The man was charged with robbery, and the court found him guilty and sentenced him to nine years of imprisonment.
