The Ministry of Internal Affairs explained how they identify Russian soldiers among the transferred bodies of the deceased.

Ukrainian experts are again finding the bodies of Russian soldiers among Ukrainian defenders during exchanges. Dobroserdov explained that this is possible due to the study of military uniforms, personal belongings, and documents.
Identification uses military uniforms, personal belongings, documents, and the tags of the deceased. If the body is in a normal condition, experts use special programs to determine the identity. However, the main method remains molecular genetic expertise.
'This data often contains errors and does not reflect reality,' emphasized Dobroserdov.
The Russian side provides minimal information about the transferred bodies, but even this information can be inaccurate. In particular, there are problems with identifying bodies that have been damaged by high temperatures or poorly preserved.
Thus, Ukrainian experts continue to identify the bodies of Russian soldiers among Ukrainian defenders, using various identification methods. Although even with Russian information, difficulties arise, especially in cases of damaged bodies.
