In May, Russian attacks claimed the lives of over 180 civilian Ukrainians - UN report.

183 civilian lives lost, 836 people injured - these are the 'stunning' figures of Russia's aggression on the territory of Ukraine. The UN is alarmed by the fact that victims were also in distant regions of the country, far from Russian front lines.
'The dead among the civilian population and the injured were recorded in 17 regions of Ukraine and in Kyiv, including areas that are far from the front. 28% of fatalities are attributed to missile strikes and loitering munitions. The same percentage applies to casualties from small drone attacks,' emphasized the UN.
Among civilian victims, analysis shows that 28% died as a result of missile strikes and loitering munitions, 21% due to artillery shelling and multiple rocket launchers, and 18% succumbed to aerial bombardments.
It is noted that 97% of the victims during systematic attacks by Russian troops were already under the control of Ukrainian authorities.
The UN report presents horrifying figures: dead and injured among the civilian population of Ukraine as a result of Russian aggression. The highest casualties are from missile strikes and bombings, underscoring the brutality of the ongoing hostile war in the east of the country.
