Ukrainian to be appointed as Cardinal by the Pope: The Vatican is already a mediator between Russia and Ukraine.


Cardinal of the Catholic Church Mykola Bychok stated that the Holy See and the Pope have undertaken many initiatives to end the war in Ukraine. He also emphasized that the Catholic Church in Ukraine and beyond plays an important role in conveying the truth about the war and Russia's crimes. On December 8, Mykola Bychok will be proclaimed a Cardinal of the Catholic Church, and this will allow him to communicate directly with the Pope.
Cardinal Mykola Bychok expressed hope for a just peace and punishment of the enemy, as well as justification for the victims of aggression. He will become the youngest Cardinal in the world and the youngest in the history of the UGCC. He also noted that he did not expect his appointment and was hoping for Cardinal Sviatoslav Shevchuk.
